My 2011 Diary by Folksaga My 2011 Diary by Folksaga
However I made it this autumn, 2010 :)
I'm very happy with the result of this one and I love the paper I chose. It's not perfect but super for being my diary. I thought I should start writing a diary again. Been ages since last time, except for small things I have written and had to conceal in my sketchbook, which is not relaxing for me when people want to browse through the sketches. ^^

Hope you like it! :la:

Thank you!
That's hard to say because I didn't keep track of time while I made it.
I would guess maybe 2-3 hours if I rule out the waiting-for-glue-to-dry hours ;)

This is really beautiful! I took a bookbinding class in university but we never made anything this gorgeous. :) Really great work, very inspiring.

I love this! It looks so solid and warm and has this beautiful old-fashioned feel to it because of the paper pattern. I really like how the textures of the leather and the paper match.

Lovely design. I particularly like the double endpapers (or is it triple?)

This is lovely. i wish I had time to make my own book for this year's journal (I write one each year). But I'll have to settle for a spiral bound note book this year. I haven't tried book binding yet, but I'm keen to. Especially if the results are as lovely as yours here.

If you are curious about trying you should! :) There are classes and books to find about the subject :) It's lots of fun.

I used a tutorial from DA and I've sewn my signatures already. I need to decorate my cover (which I canabalised from a very old book my Pa once owned.
I'll post it when I'm done.
